So, I've had time to think about my OCRWC experience. Aka: long post eminent.
This, by far, was my favorite race experience, ever. The atmosphere, the people, the course, every single obstacle, everything. My first year competitive racing, just going to the biggest event of the sport was huge to me. My "on paper" results were relatively average, but each finish felt big in my world. With only 3 obstacle reattempts the whole time, I nailed every obstacle, keeping my "mandatory obstacle completion" bands for both 3k and 15k courses. Heck, I thought the Dragon's Back obstacle, a 4 consecutive 10 foot high platform-to-platform jump, was going to give my fear of heights and me fits, but I breezed across it without pause. Then to even go back out on Sunday for a fun lap of the 7k, in the rain, and complete everything again? I'm happy with my performance. Not satisfied. I'll never be satisfied, and I'll keep striving to do better because of that, but incredibly happy, nonetheless. I already can't wait to start the push for next year's OCRWC! Thankful to all the friends who made the time even better, all the new friends I met, and all the friends and family cheering from afar! OCRWC; I'll be back!!
