Give my friend @lissaink a follow. She is just starting out sharing and soon selling her gorgeous crocheted creations. Each has a story behind them!

to October 1st when I got together with an old friend and she took some photos for me. Heather and I have crossed in and out each other’s orbits since the 4th grade. She’s an anthropologist who makes a living as a photographer. I’m a storyteller who works in a digital archive. She lives in Tennessee at the mo, but a trip to DC coincided with my need for a photographer. Kismet? Absolutely. It is a little scary to try something new, but I found comfort in the familiar. What better way to start this new chapter, this new endeavor, than with someone who knew me when I tried to perm my hair? (Sixth grade was rough, okay?) A lot went awry in the lead up to the photoshoot and I ended up with a lot less to photograph than I intended, but I’m really happy with how things turned out. What didn’t end up being ready will still get done, just a little differently. I’m excited about all of it – that there are done things and things still left to do, the momentum keeps going.) Thank you so very much, @nomadicapples, for your gorgeous work and for helping me bring Woollen Words into the world. The shop opens on October 26th. The link is in the bio.
