I've been so busy lately but my pregnancy is going great! I'm finally in the second trimester and doing my best to stay healthy and active. Im going to the gym 4x a week and eating lots of fruits and veggies. I'm aiming for about 80g of protein a day. Sometimes it's hard to eat enough, but I'm eating small portions throughout the day. June 2016 - today. Probs not much difference weight wise but I’m still glad to see this. On the left is pre op, eating a lot and training relatively heavy before I derailed and regained pretty much everything I lost. On the right is post op, hardly eating much and lifting like a little bitch but higher reps. I was so scared that because I couldn’t train like I used to I’d just lose weight and be a flabby mess. Well, I still am a flabby mess but at least I can still see/maintain/slowly grow some muscle.
So....this happened today! Just over 30kgs down since I started my pre-op diet at my highest weight ever of 148.9kg. I am now sitting at 118.6kg and the other day I bought a pair of size 18 skinny jeans which fit perfectly! I haven't been this small since before I had my first child almost 9 years ago! I have literally been dancing around in them ever since. The results are SO worth the bumpy road to get here #lovemysleeve

Heroine 👏🏼 chicken 👏🏼 and 👏🏼 marinated 👏🏼 onions 👏🏼 on 👏🏼 repeat 👏🏼 also side note, at just over 9 months out and one of these small chicken legs and about half of those onions got me to a point of being just a little too full. Everyone is different but I always wanted to know how much I might be eating at certain stages of the journey when I was pre op and early days of being post op. 😘

Although I love walking in cemeteries, half my hike is through a ravine with wooden pathways, steep inclines and many forest creatures. It all makes my heart sing 🎶💖🎶
Today starts day one of my pre-op diet. I’m starting about a week and a half early because a)I want my surgery to be successful and b)I want to give my body a head start at adapting to what I know will be dramatic changes in my intake. I feel like I have an advantage because my husband is a physician and at my request, he is closely monitoring what I’m eating and drinking. Also, he is following my pre-op diet with me, how cool is that! I weighed 229 this morning and although I wasn’t given a target surgical goal weight, I’m hoping to be down around 10 pounds come surgery day. October 20th seems so far away, yet I also feel like I’m ticking it! Every morning I get a text from my dear friend who is counting down with me and my children have been very encouraging. Most people don’t know what to say, and that’s ok-it’s not their struggle, not their journey. I love seeing this! Pretty cool that you can see each set of weights I do just in my heart rate. 10:26am to 10:40am was my warmup on the treadmill, from there on was my PT session. Leg day got me good 💪
