This homeless person was having lunch when I took the photo. At first, I was annoyed because he was just standing there, doing nothing but eating, and I really wanted him to step out of the picture at least for a second. He didn’t move, so I took the photo anyway. Now I’m glad that he stayed right there as his presence not only gives this shady photo a melancholic tone but also fills the void which otherwise would be at the end of the diagonals. Call me sentimental but I really like the idea that a homeless person - who may have nothing - can fill the emptiness simply with his existence.
