Our sickness protocol looks a bit like this. Logan woke up with a bit of a cough and sore throat today so we are on combat mode. The rest of us are healthy and I’d like to keep it that way, as well as help support his body to recover.
In our house, we load up on vitamin C which is known to support immune function [I also take doTERRA’s Long Life Vitality supplements, which have really helped to improve my immune function]. We diffuse oregano, tea tree, on guard and lemon oils to help combat airborne threats and support the immune systems of our household. I also use On Guard topically on everyone for immune support. In addition to that, Logan had Easy Air in the shower and on his chest to help support his airways, and DigestZen in his belly button to help assist mucous breakdown (I know it sounds weird by don’t knock it til you try it). On Guard on the outside of his throat and an On Guard throat drop/lozenge to help soothe his scratchy throat and fight off the germs, with the anti-microbial properties of the oils in our beautiful protective blend.
I know it seems like a lot, but really we only use a tiny bit of oil (usually just a couple of drops to 10ml of carrier oil) and the difference the oils make in relieving symptoms, helping us recover from mild illnesses, and keeping the household well is amazing. No one likes to be sick, no one likes sick people in the house, and to know we can use natural remedies to help support our bodies, instead of loading up with synthetic and toxic medications and chest rubs is amazing. If you would like to learn more about this, message me or come along to a class.
