I often get the question which teas are free of caffeine, and sadly, the answer is none of them. Luckily, there are many other tisanes and herbal options offered on the market that are not only caffeine-free, but also super tasty and good for your health.
Recently I had the pleasure of trying out products from @21detoxtea , which is an Australian company that offers organic herbal blends that help detoxify the body.
The program works like this:
1. In the morning you take the Happy Days Teatox - hibiscus leaves, lemongrass, gotu kola leaves, tumeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper
2. In the evening you take the Good Nights Teatox - camomile, lavender, spearmint, dandelion root, liquorice root, nettle leaf, burdock root, ginger
3. Drink the teas for 21 days and follow the detox eating guide that is provided as part of the program.
You can read all about the benefits on @21detoxtea website, but for my purpose, I want to say I was delighted to see the ingredient gotu kola, known as ji xue cao (積雪草) in Chinese. It is often used in Chinese medicine for its mildly diuretic and cleansing properties. For that reason, the blend is able to achieve detoxification without the use of laxatives and additives.
So I've been drinking this for almost 2 weeks. While I didn't follow the eating guide too rigorously (I lack self discipline), I did observe some things: - I shed a few healthy pounds 😎
- This chronic skin inflammation problem I had on my neck improved
Conclusion? I say try it out and let your body be the judge. 😁
